De Buck Gallery, a leading contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, New York, commissioned a digital art catalog to show the work of artist Rashaad Newsome in his most recent exhibition, Black Magic. In his work, Newsome addresses socio-political issues that are highly current and relevant in today’s world, which is why the catalog had to feel as such. Ultimately, the visual language represents his work through a subdued but varying color palette, contrasting typography, and a dynamic grid-system. Additionally, the digital nature of the catalog allows users to explore and move easily through the pages with interactive buttons. The catalog was sent to the gallery’s roster of art collectors in fall of 2019.
