Carta, or “Letter”, in Spanish, is a personal project that takes you through a typical day in my life and is addressed to my mother and father, individually. Given the linear nature and dual-narration of the story, the reader can begin reading it from either side, choosing to go from day to night or night to day. The design also incorporates various typographic layers and visual subtleties in order to reveal further and more intimate levels of information. Working under the general guidelines set by designer Fernando Rapa, the project takes on the form of a fanzine to challenge traditional publication formats.
